Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer and I am a Registered Social Service Worker & Psychotherapist with over ten years of experience supporting individuals, couples and families as they navigate through life's many challenges. In my own life I have encountered seasons of change and difficulty that have led me to dedicate myself to the heart felt work of helping others. I believe that good therapy is more than receiving empathy, and is also an experience of learning to become aware and honest with oneself in order to take the necessary steps to move towards meaningful change. I am truly inspired by the people that I have had the privilege to work with and believe that a one-size fits all approach limits each individuals unique potential. My approach is gentle, collaborative and holistic, grounded in evidence-based practices that support my clients with building confidence, clarity and emotional balance.
I hope to help you by creating a safe and non-judgmental space where we can explore what brings you to therapy. Creating a therapeutic relationship that you feel is trustworthy and supportive is important and will allow us to work collaboratively on your goals. Through my experience, I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, self-esteem and specific mental health disorders. My area of specialization focuses on the treatment of hoarding disorder and behavioural addictions, applying a compassionate and skill-based approach to assisting individuals create change.
Outside of work I am a daughter, sister, friend, partner, auntie and proud cat owner. I enjoy hiking, travelling, being creative with food, playing instruments and spending time with family and friends.
